London Futsal 3rd Annual Futsal Cup

LONDON FUTSAL “AMF” 3RD ANNUAL FUTSALCUP - MEN'S DIVISION

On Saturday January 31st, The 3rd edition of the London Futsal Annual Cup took place at Clarke Road Secondary School; hosting 12 different teams that were looking forward to winning the grand prize of $1,000 and $500 for the Second Place. We would like to thank The 12 Different Teams that participated in this year's Futsal Cup were, and we would be looking forward to having their participation once again in the future. Thanks for demonstrating quality futsal skills, throughout all the matches of the tournament. Once again our sincere thank you to all the Coaches, players, fans, and staff members who made this tournament possible once again. Semifinals:

Semifinal #1. Benfica Shockers vs London Shooting Stars- In a great futsal match, both teams showed great determination and effort. Both Benfica Shockers and London Shooting Stars had numerous chances to take the lead throughout the match, but at the end, the London Shooting Stars took the match by a score of 2-1; although the other team had numerous chances to tie the game, and send the game to overtime, the goalkeepers great performance prevented Benfica Shockers from doing so. Congratulations to both teams for their performance in the tournament, and once again showing some good quality futsal.

Semifinal #2. Cruz Azul vs London Chelsea- Although they demonstrated great performance during the qualifying stage of the tournament, London Chelsea was unable to defeat Cruz Azul's quick passing, and their impenetrable defense. London Chelsea was unable to take the lead after trying numerous times. Cruz Azul started the game in a more relaxed manner, and through their quality passes and their ability to capitalize every chance they had, they completely erased the other team's image during the match, and easily overcame the challenge by winning by a final score of 7-0. Once again, thanks to both teams for demonstrating some great quality futsal throughout the tournament.

Final:

Cruz Azul vs London Shooting Stars - In a very tight game at first, Cruz Azul Finally Found the opening that would start their lead towards winning the final. Once the Toronto team scored their first goal, they dominated the match throughout the whole 40 minutes. Their accurate passing and ability to succesfully finishing all their scoring opportunities, made the London team unable to tie the game, eventhough they were showing great effort, and motivation throughout the game. Cruz Azul's lead became larger as the minutes passed by, making it really hard for the other team to catch up, and be able to raise the desired prize. The Final Score of the match was 10-2 favouring the Toronto Team. Their was great effort Shown by both teams during the final, making it a great futsal match that people didn't want to miss. Congratulations To Toronto Cruz Azul for their great overall performance in the tournament, and in the final.
